The Silver Arrows Legacy

The new silver and green livery of the MGP W01 creates a true marriage between the heritage of the Silver Arrows and the team's title partner PETRONAS. The legacy of the Silver Arrows goes back to the 1934 Eifel Race when, on the evening before the event, the white paint was sanded off the Mercedes W25 race car to fulfill weight regulations (750kg formula) and the silver color of the aluminum surface of the car appeared. This season, with the return of the Silver Arrows, the MGP W01 will shine in silver combined with a flow of iridescent silver and green shading. On the nose and other parts of the car, traces of black carbon fiber visible are visible - a reminder of the first Silver Arrow of 1934.

Career Highlights
Team Principal, Ross Brawn, is one of the sport’s most decorated individuals with a distinguished résumé that includes some of the most famous F1 teams and drivers ever to grace the sport.
He joined Benetton F1 as Technical Director in 1991, helping them win back-to-back Drivers’ Championships in 1994 and 1995 with Michael Schumacher, and to take the Constructors' Championship in 1995.
Brawn followed Schumacher to Ferrari in 1996 and as Technical Director helped them regain past glories when the team won the Constructors' Championship in 1999, the first of six consecutive titles.
The Brawn-guided Ferrari team also powered Schumacher to five consecutive Drivers' titles, from 2000 to 2004. Brawn's contribution to this unprecedented string of uninterrupted titles has led many to label him as a vital member of the Ferrari "dream team" along with Schumacher.
In 2006, Ferrari announced that Brawn was taking a year’s sabbatical from the sport, and following that year of travelling and fishing around the world, Brawn  joined Honda. And, the year after that, Brawn GP was created.
This year, the “dream team” has returned, with Michael Schumacher and long-time colleague, Ross Brawn, teaming up for the 2010 season. Along with the young and experienced German driver, Nico Rosberg, MERCEDES GP PETRONAS is gearing up for another potentially historic season under the technical command of Ross Brawn.
